Clements, B. (2009) ‘The sociological and psychological influences on public support for the European Union in Britain, 1983-2005’, British Politics, 4 (1), pp.47-82. [This issue of British Politics also has a round table discusison on Colin Hay’s ‘Whay we hate politics’, with Hay answering Stoker and contributions from Bang and Marsh]

Have also been reading:

Cable, V. (2009) The storm: the world economic crisis and what it means. London: Atlantic Books. [Dr Cable MP is more impressive as a speaker than as a writer, but this is a cogent and concise analysis of the longer-term economics and politics of why Anglo-American style capitalism is in deep trouble]

Just sent for review and looks promising:

Vinen, R. (2009) Thatcher’s Britain: the politics and social upheaval of the Thatcher era. London: Simon & Schuster.
